LIVING WITHIN YOUR MEANS

Living Within Your Means
If you make a penny less than what you spend you will end up in the poorhouse.

When I was a kid my father used to say this to me. Then I thought he was joking. Now I know it is true.

Most people live ‘beyond their means' – meaning they buy stuff on credit cards but they will never make enough money to pay it all off in a month or two.

We live in a ‘consumer society'. Everyone wants to buy stuff all the time – there is a lot of social pressure to look or act like everyone else. But you know what? Canada and the US are the only countries stupid enough to spend so much money that we don't have. Almost every other citizen in the world simply can't do that. They don't have the money.

You think I'm kidding?
If you live in rural China – you make $247 A YEAR.
Now you know why immigrants are willing to clean toilets for $7.00 an hour.
If you live in Syria – you make $700 A YEAR.

Would you rather live here, or there?

If you live in Russia and have a Ph.D…..chances are good you might barely make a living, but no profit.
And if you are a septic tank maintenance guy in North America who pumps the sewage out of tanks every few years, you can make $100,000 a year or more.

We are blessed to be in North America with the enterprise and resources and democratic governments we have. Not everything is right or good here – but a lot is excellent. You have a valuable place in this society. So please, don't dropout….DROP IN!
